Properties and influence of sintering type refining slag

The basic function of sintering type refining slag is desulfurization and deoxygenation of molten steel, absorption of impurities in molten steel to purify molten steel, foaming submerged arc to prevent the suction of molten steel and heat preservation, etc. Refining slag can be divided into basic slag, fluxing agent, foaming agent, etc., through the comprehensive effect of each part to obtain low melting point, appropriate viscosity, good foaming, deoxidation desulfurization and absorption of impurities, to ensure a good metallurgical effect. Here is a simple analysis of its performance and influencing factors:
1 melting point. The melting point of the refined slag is generally controlled in the range of 1300--1500 degrees Celsius.
2 viscosity. The viscosity of the slag is directly related to its melting point temperature.
3 foaming performance. The foaming property of the refined slag is related to the viscosity, surface tension and density of the molten slag, which is generally measured by the foaming index.
Desulfurization, deoxygenation and adsorption of impurities. The process of deoxidizing desulfurization and adsorption of impurity in refining slag is a diffusion chemical and physical process occurring at the steel slag interface. Good white slag and proper amount of slag are important conditions for deoxidizing desulfurization and adsorption of impurity.
